Wye Lights

Map of Wye with all streetlights marked and 400m radius from the centre

The location of over 200 street lights in Wye. The red circle marks the 400m radius from the centre of the village.

Wye Lights is a project to take over all the street lights around Wye that are not owned by Kent County Council. Currently Ashford Borough Council owns these lights, but announced its intention to transfer the responsibility and running costs to Wye Parish Council.

Currently the Parish Council is waiting for Ashford Borough Council to provide the necessary information and to discuss details. The parish budget for 2022-2023 included a sum to meet the anticipated costs of running streetlights, and an increase in the precept. This sum is being held in reserve while the project remains on hold.
