Early engagement saves all parties time and money and achieves better outcomes and the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) supports pre-application consultations.

Ashford Borough Council has an agreed protocol for handling pre-application consultations. This protocol is available to download below. First developed in partnership with Wye with Hinxhill Parish Council in 2011, this protocol now applies to all parish councils across the borough.
